EVENT ITINERARY January 2008

Competitors and guests will want to fly into the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose.

We recommend booking a room at the Best Western Irazu* as that is where we will hold these pre-race functions and we will be leaving for the race start from there very early in the morning on January 27th. The race organization will take care of your hotel accommodations in Bahia Salinas on February 1st, the last night of the race. You can contact Best Western and make your arrangements based on your dates of travel. Best Western also has a free shuttle from the airport about every 30 minutes.

*(Please contact Olger Villalobos directly if you find that you are unable to reserve rooms through the front desk or through Best Western's general booking. Let him know that you are participating in The Coastal Challenge 2008 and he should be able to assist you)

January 26: Official registration and a poolside reception for competitors and guests at The Best Western Irazu in San Jose.

January 27: We will transport you to the Race Start about 2 hours away.

January 27-February 1: We will be on course

February 1: Race ends at Bahia Salinas. We spend the day and evening at the Bolanos Bay Resort where we will have the awards ceremony and closing party.

February 2: We will transport you back to The Best Western in San Jose. Itıs about a 6 hour drive and will will leave in the late morning (10-10:30AM) and arrive in San Jose in the late afternoon. We recommend departing on the 3rd but if you absolutely have to depart on the 2nd we suggest you book a late afternoon flight. If you must leave earlier on the 2nd, ie (early afternoon) you must notify us of your flight times and we will try to accommodate you with an early morning shuttle back to San Jose. You must notify the organization in advance if this is the case because space will be limited.

**If you must leave even earlier on the 2nd, say earlier than 1:00 a.m., you must make your own travel arrangements from Bolanos Bay Resort in Bahia Salinas. **
