From the Event Director
We are fast approaching our 10th year of staging the Coastal Challenge. We have experienced much, witnessed much and learned much while watching you all endure much.
We have loved every minute of it and consider ourselves fortunate to have met so many great people in the course of mapping out and staging this event, a race that has been challenging and empowering its participants for nearly one decade.
Gratitude for the connections made and the people we’ve been privileged to meet and work with along the way.
Keeping in touch is hard these days but to reunite with so many of you in different countries and new worlds has been an honor and privilege.
2 thoughts linger always in my mind with this event and other endurance races I have organized.
“Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven,
that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
– Alfred Tennyson
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time”
– T. S. Eliot
See you somewhere on the trail.
